Absences
If your child is going to be absent or arriving late, please call the office (604-856-3355) to inform us. Please be aware that if your child is often late, they will be missing significant lessons as much of the literacy and math instruction happens first thing in the morning. If your child is ill, please keep him or her home until he or she is no longer contagious and is able to participate in regular school activities. Homework will be provided upon request. Please avoid long absences due to holidays as this seriously jeopardizes your child’s achievement. Homework may not be provided as assignments based on lessons your child misses can be more confusing than helpful.
Inclement Weather
Snow closures and power outages are an annual occurrence in Langley School District. So where do you go to get information about the status of schools during periods of inclement weather? An alert on this site will display at the top of the webpage if school closures are in effect. The same alert will also display on the District site. If you don’t have connectivity, but your phone is working, call a relative or friend in an area that has not been affected by the storm and ask them to check the district web site for you. Current information is also posted on Langley School District’s Information Hotline at 604-532-1453. (Do not hang up if your call is not connected right away). Local radio stations are also informed of school status in Langley. Tune in to CKWX 1130 AM, CKNW 980 AM, Country Radio 107.1 FM or CBC 690 AM for updates.
